BRI opens up a space in the North

These pieces of news are interesting and may link to news of the possible link of the UK with a customs union link to the EU through the Norway arrangement with the EU.

There is also the major opening up of sea routes from China to Scandinavia along the coast of Russia which then links to rail routes down from Kirkenes in Norway into Europe.

Whilst the Arctic route may only be open 6 months a year, through to Rotterdam it may well, with warming, open all year round by 205..

I will circulate a paper on this by Henry Tillman. One thing is for sure, China is pressing ahead to open up links with Europe in new routes which dramatically shorten and cheapen transport costs in both directions.
